IPOH: Pakistan take on defending champions New Zealand in their second match of 2016 Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Cup at Malaysia’s city of Ipoh on Saturday, ARY News reported.
Pakistan started their 2016 Azlan Shah tournament with a win as they comfortably overcame Canada 3-1 in their first game.
Meanwhile, New Zealand have drawn both games of their tournament so far. Their first match against Malaysia ended 3-3 and their second game against Canada finished at 1-1.
The green shirts are training hard to secure their second win in the tournament.
Pakistan Captain Mohammad Irfan has said that an impression should not be given that his side does not possess the skill to overcome the defending champions.
“We have achieved success before. This time we will come up with a better plan,” Irfan said.
Malaysia leads the points table with four points while Australia, Pakistan and India are at second, third and fourth place respectively with three points each.
